NIS America announced on Thursday that it is collaborating with Active Game Media to release the HD remaster for Grasshopper Manufacture's The Silver Case visual novel game on PlayStation 4 in North America and Europe in early 2017. Grasshopper Manufacture had announced the PS4 version for Japan earlier on Thursday. The game will arrive on the PS4 in Japan in the first half of 2017.
Grasshopper Manufacture released the HD remaster on Steam, Playism, GOG, and Humble Store platforms for PC on October 6 (EDT). The company plans to release the game on Mac in Japan on November 7, and will also make an announcement regarding a package edition this month.
Sony posted a trailer of the PS4 version on its YouTube channel.
NIS America describes the story:
1999 - the "24 Wards." A string of mysterious serial killings plagues the city. The detectives of the 24 Wards Heinous Crimes Unit have their eyes on one man: Kamui Uehara, legendary serial killer and assassin of a number of government officials 20 years prior in the now-famous "Silver Case." However, nobody knows who— or what—Kamui really is.
Has he really returned? Who is this infamous serial killer?
The Silver Case was the first game Grasshopper Manufacture released, and Gōichi Suda (Suda51) directed and wrote the game. The game shipped for the PlayStation in 1999. The remastered PC version is the first English release of the game.
